Lol, you're the one confusing the issue by talking about 5-axis IBIS since that has come to be the accepted term for sensor-shift image stabilization. You can argue semantics all you want, but referring to the t7i as having IBIS is only going to result in confusion everywhere you go. That's exactly what I just told you. Saying IBIS will confuse.
That's why I never used it. I have no freaking idea why you believe I said it in my OP. I was careful with that matter, here read again:. I hear albeit the crop, that it's absolutely phenomenal and IBIS-like". If you tried the t7i electronic IS and want to share the experience please do if you don't you're connenting on a question saying to someone who never said IBIS that he did. No reason ever to do that Here is how Canon's web site puts it: "Movie Electronic IS adds 5-axis stabilization in the horizontal, vertical and rotational planes.
Okay, I follow you now. My mind was so blown with the idea of Canon finally adding sensor stabilization to a DSLR, that I missed the gist of your original comment. I've hoped for a long time that they would add sensor stabilization to their DSLR bodies. Even setting the "IBIS" acronym aside, I think it is deceptive for Canon to refer to 5-axis stabilization when that is a term that is associated with the sensor stabilization in many other brands. It's described exactly how it is. No confusion and no deception.
Now since 5 axis is an actual specification and it IS electronic and mechanical IS.. What else are they going to call it? It stabilizes video in 5 axis.
Up until now, 5-axis stabilization has referred to a camera's ability to move its sensor such that it can 1 move side-to-side, 2 move up and down, 3 roll, 4 pitch forward and back, and 5 tilt side-to-side to correct for yaw. Electronic crop-based stabilization certainly can help mitigate movement in the first three axes, with some known side-effects and limitations, but it cannot realistically claim to prevent pitch and yaw, which are movements that actually change the perspective of an image.
Electronically the image can be stretch and squished I suppose to help correct for pitch and yaw, but that is not what 5-axis stabilization does. So for Canon to try to commandeer the term for an old gimmick that many other cameras have already used is demonstrably wrong. If you're happy buying the marketing BS, then good for you. But I'm not going to propagate it.
Give me a break and you two need to get a grip on reality. Just because you can't read, doesn't mean others cant. I'd be all over them if they tried to state it like it was in body mechanical as with you, but there's no fault in calling it 5 axis electronic stabilization when that is what it does. To me, this is just another case of the marketing people getting ahead of the engineers. That's where the stretching and pinching would have to come in since the sensor is not free to pitch and tilt.
My understanding is that x, y and roll would be correct electronically using the crop latitude and pitch and yaw would be controlled by the IS in the lens since Canon's site says the 5-axis is only available with some lenses.
Canon isn't even the first company to do so. I've never heard of a lens element being able to move in such a way as to be able to compensate for pitch and yaw, but perhaps some can? It's an interesting question. Did you all read this? Is it just me or is the ISO shot cocktail bar really rather good in terms of low noise?
Would be good to see this in the studio comparison list as there are only a couple of other high ISO samples here. They certainly are in the PowerShot line, with a new crop every year that's nearly identical across multiple models and years, but has a fleet of new model names and minor differences. Canon is so boring that they make boringly high quality images! They are great. High res. Great colour. Low noise. And as a gadget nerd I want that element! Why are you under the impression that a camera can make your shots exciting?
You have to do that. A very good choice!!! I love the way it can look as dressy or informal as needed. I also appreciate it not being stupidly big, as seems to be the style.
An anti-reflective coating on the crystal would have been nice, but I can not tell if have lost it or it got stolen I already have a watch on faux black alligator. I wanted something to mimic the look of the black dial dressy diver I had as a teenager, so it had to be on a bracelet.
